25th Anniversary Trip

Rob and I celebrated our 25th Wedding Anniversary by taking a road trip in the Corvette to Utah! We had not been there for over 20 years!! It was nice to see the colors of fall starting to turn. We drove to Page, AZ friday night and in the process of finding a hotel to stay in, the Corvette wouldn't start. We got it started with the help of AAA, and finally were able to find a hotel around 2 am. I couldn't believe how booked Page was - there were alot of tourists from other countries. I thought for sure that was the end of our trip, but Rob (my handyman) found a way to start the Vette and we limped our way on to Utah!

We visited with a couple of Rob's brothers families. It was so nice to see them . . . so fun to see what they are doing to fix up their homes and the interests and talents of their kids.

On Monday, we found a car dealership to fix the Corvette, and in the meantime, we rented a car and went to Temple Square. We toured the Conference Center, Beehive House, Hotel Utah (which is now the Joseph Smith Memorial Building), Church Historical Building, and ate lunch at the Lion House. The church has done a wonderful job of preserving these buildings, we learned that the Lion House and also the Beehive House was the original home of Brigham Young.
And to top it all off . . . Rob got me a diamond ring that included my original diamonds from 25 years ago! It was all very memorable. Until next time, Ta Ta!

Allen Family Reunion

On June 20th, we had our annual Allen Family Reunion at Camp Silver Creek in Taylor, AZ. It was Rob's and my turn to host it this year . . . we had a great time. We did spend a lot of time in the kitchen cooking for 60 people, but everyone really chipped in and helped to make it a fun experience! WE LOVE MAKING FAMILY MEMORIES!
